This is a site for strategy games. It allows players to experience strategic interaction when markets are imperfect. One game allows experience with the problems created by open access fisheries (the fishing game), another considers adoption of network products (the symbol game), and a third allows familiarity with markets with varying degrees of information.
The games are web-based and run in a browser window as a Java applet. For effective operation, students and instructors must have a reliable connection to the internet. All of the games require several players and are best used in classroom settings. Each game must be "umpired" by an instructor. These games were designed by Andrew King. The site and all of the programming was done by a team of brilliant programmers - many of them students at Dartmouth College. See the acknowledgements page for information on the sources of inspiration for the games. We recommend you contact Andrew King before running the games with a full class.Faculty: Click here to umpire the games. Students: Click here to proceed to the games. |
